Service Technicians

Anyone servicing electrical equipment in New Zealand must be qualified to the standards prescribed by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) and which will include the completion of the following courses:
- Electrical Appliance Serviceperson - for the servicing of plug-in appliances up to 230V
- Electrical Service Technician - for the servicing of fixed wired appliances up to 460V
Course Prerequisites
Please note that you must be either a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand resident or hold a current work permit to enrol on an EWRB Registration course with etco*. Previous electrical work experience is strongly recommended.
To enrol in the Electrical Service Technician course, you will need to provide evidence that you have attended an Electrical Appliance Serviceperson course.
