Is this Career for You?

pic_08.jpgAnyone interested in a career at the cutting edge of electrical technology might well be suited to a career in the electrical industry. After all, it is a lifestyle choice. If you thrive on accepting and overcoming manual and intellectual challenges, are a problem solver, don’t mind hard work and are interested in constantly improving your knowledge and keeping abreast of new technologies then this is the perfect career choice for you.

A typical day in the electrical industry is nothing like a typical day in most other industries. At any time you could be repairing traditional equipment or new machinery with advanced technology in a manufacturing plant …wiring a house …or even designing and developing new ideas to support changes in technology. And where? Well imagine it could be an office block, an oil rig, a brewery or right in the heart of the city.

Indeed, wherever electricity is present can be considered to be the electrical industry:

  • Houses
  • Factories
  • Schools
  • Hotels
  • Offices
  • Hospitals
  • Shops
  • Restaurants
  • Industrial sites

Before you take your first steps towards a career in the electrical industry it is important to think about whether you really do have the right aptitude and dedication to succeed. That is, do you have the "right stuff" to enjoy the training and work required to succeed in this dynamic industry?

If you do, then there is every chance of you successfully completing your apprenticeship with excellent career options and a quality of lifestyle to look forward to.
